UHF Shadow, one of my older novels, written in 2000 / 01 is now available to buy:

http://www.blurb.com/bookstore/detail/1537046

You can also look through some preview pages at this link.

The back page blurb says:

“Ever felt like you were not quite tuned into the rest of the world?
Do you watch things happen all around you, but whatever you do, none of your actions seem to make any difference in the world?
Do people mistake you for someone else, think you are someone they should know, should care about?
Have you ever felt like the only impression you have made on this planet is your name being tattooed on the backside of your first lover?
Ever felt like you were the UHF Shadow you get behind people on a television set which is not quite tuned in fully?
This novel is for anyone who has ever felt out of place in the world, out of tune with reality, or like a child wearing grown ups clothing.”

I have spoken before about the changes going on in publishing and what the future is for publishing houses.

This blog entry sums up what is going on pretty well.

NASA has sent a humanoid robot into space.

This type of robot is called a Robonaut (this  specific oneis  named R2) it was sent into space in the Space Shuttle Discovery’s cargo bay en route to the International Space Station.

R2 is the first humanoid robot in space.

An unmanned (robot) spacecraft, named Johannes Kepler, has completed an eight-day mission to fly itself from Earth to the International Space Station, docking itself accurately.

If we have robots that can do that, how long before the Google cars are out and about on our roads?

sleep deprived…

March 1, 2011

The other night, sleep deprived by the toddler, I found myself run out of nursery rhymes. So instead if “baa baa black sheep” or some such, I found myself singing the following (does this make me a bad person?):

“With the lights out, it’s less dangerous

Here we are now, entertain us

I feel stupid and contagious

Here we are now, entertain us”

What next I wonder?

Killing in the Name by RATM would be a natural choice, but after the abomination of Skins season 5 ep 2, it feels a bit raw.

So, it may be better I opt for Where is my Mind by the Pixies…
